Scam. Do not under any circumstances give them any personal information. Hang up and call the number on the back of whatever card they were claiming to be from.

This number belongs to Bank Of America. It was verified with the phone company. I did call them though and not vice versa.

I believe the person who owes the bill, is the hacker not me. The insurance company probably would pinpoint the hacker that caused me to a big headache, started November 22, 2024. I got a security message to change my password. I began in November trying to change both.

The reason is its not my bill. My email was used, and I wont to find out who owes the payment.

Scam? They said it was Optum Bank fraud alert but when I called back Optum Bank, they said they didn't call. Asked for personal details like SS#.

They called saying that there had been an application filled out for a credit card and asked if my husband had filled it out. Of course we hadn't, so they said that they would remove it from his information and remove it from his credit report. They suggested that we contact one of the credit companies to have a fraud alert placed on it so they won't automatically approve any credit card applications. Then he said that he could scan to see if there was any other fraudulent activity on his credit report, but to do that he would need my husband's date of birth and his social security number. My husband started to tell his date of birth but I stopped him and said that we would call on our own and have it taken care of. They said that would be fine and the call ended. Whew! I'm glad I stepped in and stopped him. These people make me so mad! They need to use their skills for something good instead of trying to rip people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stated they were from BOA Fraud Protection. Asked if (blank) had submitted a loan application? This is NOT the correct phone number for (blank) so I KNEW he didn't do it. When I stated it was a FRAUD application. I was asked if I wanted a report of this action sent to my e-mail. DUH!!!! I'm not about to give you my e-mail.... SO NO!!!! What a scam.

This number is a valid Bank of America fraud department line, *but remember that any caller can spoof their number.* After a BoA card application I received a voicemail from this number - notably it mentioned an application reference number that matched the legit reference number I got when I applied. Out of an abundance of caution I called a credit card customer support number on the BoA website, and after getting transferred a couple times they told me to call this number! So it's legit. But if you receive a call, always safer to hang up and call them back, since callers can spoof their number, but when *you* call a legit number, you're good.
