HELP

FIND A PERSON FAQS

Q: Where does AnyWho get the directory information?

A: All of the residential white pages are public information obtained from local telephone records for published telephone listings.

Non-Published directory assistance records are not provided and are not displayed.

None of the listings contained in the white pages are obtained from AT&T billing records.

Q: How often is the database updated?

A: The listings in the database can range from three months to six months old and are updated every three months.

Q: Can I add or update my listing?

A: Not directly through AnyWho. AnyWho uses directory information that comes from the local telephone companies, and currently does not allow adding additional information.

You MUST make change requests at the source, which would be your local company, and the changes will then cascade into downstream systems, including AnyWho.

Q: Is there a way to include my Fax, Email, Web Site, etc… with my listing?

A: At this time AnyWho does not allow adding additional information to a residential white page listing.

Q: I have a non-published listing. Why does my information show up in AnyWho?

A: It's possible that your local telephone company has made an error and listed your number. Please check with your local telephone company and verify that your number has been provisioned as a non-published number. Another possibility is that you recently purchased a non-published number and your number will be removed from our database on the next scheduled update.

Q: Why can't I find a person in AnyWho that I know has been at the same location for a year or more?

A: It's possible that they have a non-published listing, which AnyWho does not display.

Q: Can I remove my listing from AnyWho?

A: Should you wish to have your residential listing removed from AnyWho without obtaining a non-published telephone number, please follow the instructions provided in the privacy listing process and we will submit your listing to our removal process.

The privacy listing process will also allow you to re-list your number if it has previously been removed through that process.

Q: How can I get better results when searching for a person?

A: Check out the sections below:

Last Name

  • Try using only the first 4 letters of the last name.
  • If the last name is common, be sure to include information in the First Name and/or City field.
  • If the last name contains a space (e.g. La Rosa), try it without the space.

First Name

  • Using the first letter only is the most effective, since you lessen the chance of a misspelling.

Street Name

  • Try dropping the thoroughfare type (e.g. Street, Road, Rd, Ave, etc).
  • Try dropping the "direction" in the name (e.g. for West Hanover, drop "West").

Zip Code

  • If you know the zip code, use it instead of a city name (you still need a state), as there is less chance for misspellings.
